Pre-launch policies · Effective October 15, 2026
Privacy Policy
This notice describes the current pre-launch handling of account, property, and identity information by Home Equity Auction.
Information collected
We collect account details, requested roles, property information, uploaded identity or authority documents, technical request data, and records of important account and staff actions.
How information is used
Information is used to operate accounts, review identity and authority, prepare property submissions, prevent misuse, support transactions, and meet legal obligations. Automated tools may organize or flag information, but consequential verification decisions require human or specialist-provider review.
Optional nearby property discovery
When the marketplace opens, we automatically request your device location to order published properties by approximate area distance. Your browser or phone controls permission and may ask you to allow access. If permission is declined or location is unavailable, mixed listings remain available. Coordinates are rounded before being sent to our server. The location stays in memory during the visit and is not saved to your account or saved-search alerts. You can revoke location access in browser or device settings. Requests may be included in normal technical server logs. We do not track location in the background or reveal exact property addresses through discovery. Approximate postal area data is provided by GeoNames.
Saved searches and listing insights
When you save a property search, we retain its name, filters, alert preference and matched-listing records to deliver in-app alerts. You can pause or delete a search in your buyer dashboard; existing inbox notices remain. Sellers see aggregate listing activity, such as current saves and offers. They do not receive the identities of people who merely save or view a listing. Optional view counting is off by default and can be enabled or disabled in Cookie settings. It records daily totals and uses a short-lived server-side deduplication key that expires after 30 minutes; daily totals do not contain visitor identities. Existing verification and participant access rules still apply.
Optional mobile push notifications
Mobile push is optional and requires your device permission and an explicit choice in the app. When enabled, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging processes a device delivery identifier; Apple also provides delivery for iOS. Alerts contain only generic account-update text, not document contents, addresses or financial terms. Device associations are removed when you turn push off in the app or revoke that mobile sign-in. You may also disable notifications in device settings. The private in-app notification inbox remains available without push.
Sensitive documents
Identity, ownership, proof-of-funds, and transaction documents are private and are not intended for public pages. Current development uploads are stored outside the public web directory and remain pending security scanning and review.
Sharing and retention
Information may be shared with authorized staff and selected verification, storage, title, escrow, or legal providers when necessary. Final production retention, deletion, legal-hold, and California privacy procedures must be confirmed before launch.
Contact and choices
Production contact, access, correction, and deletion request procedures will be published before launch. Do not use the pre-launch system for a live transaction until those procedures and operating partners are confirmed.
